There is a special tool, which is not mandatory, but it does make the removal of the housing much easier.



Once you have the holder off, remove the old filter and slip on the new. Remember to change all the O-rings at the same time. Not changing them may result in an oil leak from the housing.

For changing oil, I've learned that it's cheaper to have a garage do it. You have to get dirty getting at the filter, get oil spilt on your floor, have to get rid of the oil, and clean the whole mess up, when a shop can do it all for just about the same cost. Don't forget, the oil and filter can cost $20-40. anyway.
