Changing Oil Filter on 2003 4Runner...?

I can change my oil without any problem, but I absolutely cannot figure out how to get to my oil filter on my vehicle. It's a 2003 4runner, Sports edition V8. Do I have to take the skid plate off to be able to reach the oil filter? Please tell me there's an easier way to get to it than disassembling my truck. Changing Oil Filter on 2003 4Runner...?Sometimes you can get access behind the wheel by removing the flexible splash shields, I'm not sure about the 4runner though!
